FAQ

How much does dialysis cost per month in Malaysia?

In private centres, sessions can cost up to about RM 200 each, around RM 2,800 for 14 sessions a month before subsidy. NGO centres are cheaper, and a government subsidy of RM 100 per session applies. Low-income patients may pay far less.

Does SOCSO cover dialysis?

SOCSO contributors may receive dialysis support through PERKESO panel centres and its own dialysis centres, or a monthly allowance if they use other centres. Eligibility rules apply, so check with PERKESO.

How often is haemodialysis done?

Most patients have three sessions a week of around four hours each, though your nephrologist sets the schedule based on your needs.

Are NGO dialysis centres such as NKF safe?

NGO centres operate under the same health regulations, but check each centre's licence, nephrologist cover and infection-control practice the same way as for a private centre.
